Questioner : How can I find inner peace with all the sadness I have in my life?

Vishrant: ( long silence ).......All our lives we tend to embrace what gives us pleasure and try to push away that which gives us pain . This leads to stress as there are forever things we don't like to experience . Many years ago while experiencing a bout of depression I found myself trying to say no , i don't want this , anything but this. I became aware that the attempting to push this experience away was actually causing more pain than the depression itself . On seeing this i decided to go the opposite direction and allow the depression to be present. To let it be without trying in any way to change it. The depression was a part of this mind that could not be separate even though i had wanted it to be. I started to see the depression as a part of this personality that really needed acceptance and love, not rejection. In so doing this brought acceptance and love to this condition that i thought had been a plague. To my surprise i discovered that even in depression there is a sweetness, a beauty, a peace. The door was simply acceptance and love. I soon found that this door included all the emotional states i had previously considered negative and not welcome. What a blessing something so simply has been , to totally accept all of the personality , not just the parts considered good. What a beautiful sweetness in all . Acceptance of what is, is the answer.

Questioner: I find that I am so attached to people and material things, do i need to give these up to experience Self?

Vishrant : ( laughter )For me it has been an ongoing adventure of seeing attachments and gleefully letting them go . It has clearly been seen that any attachment is a form of imprisonment . So as these latent tendencies of the mind raise themselves you have the opportunity for freedom . There is no need to get rid of things just let the attachment to them go .

Questioner: What is the best way to freedom?

Vishrant: Like the wind gently blowing through the trees , life gently carries on , the wind does not worry about where its been or where its going , it just keeps going , following the path of least resistance , what it can't go through , it goes around , no problem , just what is , life is just happening , let go , go with the flow , follow the path of least resistance . When there is no resistance life is beautiful . Accept everything.

Questioner: You say the devotional path is a beautiful way to go , what do you mean?

Vishrant: When heart is experienced all is beautiful . Heart does not divide , it joins , it brings everything together . When heart is present there is compassion for all . People are not judged on their merits they are simply accepted as they are , here and now . Seeing through heart allows all differences to disappear . Heart crosses all boundaries . Like the air in a room , it envelopes everything with kindness and care.

Questioner: I get so caught in worrying about the future , what is the best way to stop this worrying?

Vishrant : When you are attached to how the future is going to work out suffering soon follows . Let go of these attachments to how the future should be . Accept things as they happen , as what is happening, neither good nor bad , simply what is happening . This way you take the ongoing story of right and wrong out of your life . Life becomes more silent , more peaceful . More loving.

What ever the question the best answer is be quiet,
if you want to know about being, be quiet.
